Born in Japan’s Tohoku region. In 2005, studied textile design in Melbourne, Australia. There Kana was deeply inspired by the brilliantly colored plants and animals, vastness of the landscape, and the traditional spirituality of the Aboriginal peoples. Afterwards, traversed North America with Native Americans, and spent time in India, Thailand and France. Each place left an imprint on Kana’s artwork, with new materials and motifs appearing in Kanart’s collage paintings, fashion accessories, clothing and more. Recently returned to Japan after completing yoga teacher training in Australia. In January 2020, opened Kanart Atelier near Enoshima, Japan.
