    バンクシア 千手観音/Banksia Senju-Kannon

    Australian Wearable Art Festival Finalist

In Japan, the Goddess of Mercy, “Senju Kannon”, with her thousand arms, saves all who seek her. Inspired by the Australian wilderness, Kana created a “Senju Kannon” from her favourite plant, the banksia. The hands in this piece are made from wire art, and the body is inspired by banksia. Silk kimono linings are adorned with colours and patterns made from Japanese wildflowers and banksia. A reminder that nature can provide inspiration in difficult times.
